Prepared for Los Altos, CA · Sep 2026
We reviewed every signal — page-by-page content, Semrush rankings, a live Local Falcon grid scan, schema markup, Google Business Profile configuration, and the manual user experience. The good news first: this site is growing fast — ranking keywords nearly quadrupled since May. The problem is that it competes against itself. Three separate pages chase "dental crowns los altos." Six URLs rank for it at once. And not one page on the site carries dental schema.
We graded the site across four categories using live Semrush data, a Local Falcon grid scan, and direct inspection of the page markup. The numbers below show the percentage of best-practice items the site currently meets in each pillar.
Where the practice stands on organic search performance today.
192 ranking keywords is well past the 80 benchmark, and traffic has doubled since May — this site has genuine momentum. What it is not converting is depth into position: the money terms sit at #9 to #13, just below where clicks happen.
The trajectory is the best news in this audit. For three years the site sat flat at roughly 30–50 keywords and 40 visits a month. Then something changed in June 2026: keywords went 52 → 192 in four months and traffic more than doubled, 34 → 72 visits/mo. Whatever started in June is working. This report is about removing the two things stopping it from compounding.
Source: Semrush organic trend, tinaledds.com, monthly. Momentum is the hardest thing to start, and this site already has it. Note the small dip in traffic over the last month even as keywords kept climbing — that is what duplicate pages competing for the same term look like in the data.
The link profile that drives — or drags down — domain authority.
309 backlinks across 212 referring domains should buy more than 8/100. That gap is the signature of directory-grade links that pass little real strength — and authority is precisely what moves a #9 ranking to a #3.
The three issues doing the most damage right now — fix these first and everything else compounds faster.
Three separate pages target dental crowns — /dental-crowns/, /dental-crowns-focused/ and /dental-crowns-faqs/. Six URLs rank for "dental crowns los altos" at once, at #9, #21, #36, #57, #78, #94 and #96. Google splits the signal and none reaches the top 3.
CriticalWe read the markup on every key page. There is no Dentist, LocalBusiness, FAQPage or AggregateRating schema on the site — only generic WebPage and Breadcrumb tags. Even /dental-crowns-faqs/ carries no FAQ markup, so AI engines cannot read it as answers.
CriticalThe money terms all land at #8–#13: "dental implants los altos" #8, "dental crowns los altos" #9, "family dentistry los altos" #9, "dentist los altos ca" #13. Ranked, indexed, and one or two positions away from the clicks.

Source: Semrush organic positions, US desktop, September 2026. This is a stronger table than most audits produce — four terms already in the top 3. The pattern to notice is the cluster at #8–#9: seven money terms sitting one or two places below the clicks.
Every term below has a page built for it already. Two patterns stand out: the homepage keeps outranking the dedicated pages for their own terms, and where several pages chase one keyword, none of them wins it.
| Keyword | Appears On | Monthly Searches | Current Rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| dentist los altos ca | Homepage · plus 2 more URLs | 260 | Page 2 (#13) |
| los altos dental | Homepage | 260 | Not on page 1 |
| dental implants los altos | Homepage — not the implants page | 170 | #8 |
| dental crowns los altos | 6 URLs at once | 90 | #9 · then #21, #36, #57… |
| invisalign los altos | Invisalign page | 90 | Not ranking |
| teeth whitening los altos | Teeth whitening page | 70 | Not ranking |
| emergency dentist los altos | Emergency dental information page | 70 | Not ranking |
Nothing here needs writing from scratch. Consolidating the duplicate clusters into one canonical page per treatment, then pointing the internal links at it, is what turns a #9 into a #3.
Keyword footprint against the Los Altos practices ranking for the same searches. This is the chart that shows how close the gap already is.
The footprint is competitive already. What is not competitive is what it earns: Los Altos Family Smiles turns 249 keywords into 227 visits a month, while these 192 keywords return only 72. Same market, roughly the same coverage, three times the traffic — because their rankings sit above the fold and are not split across duplicate pages.
A live Local Falcon scan searched from 25 points across a 10-mile radius around 827 Altos Oaks Dr and recorded the Google Maps position at each one. The result is the sharpest finding in this audit.
Found at 1 of 25 points · Share of local voice 0%
The single point where the practice appears at all is the center of the grid — its own address — and even there it ranks #14. Step one cell in any direction and it drops out of the top 20 entirely. Meanwhile Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry holds 92% share, Altos Family & Cosmetic 92%, and Los Altos Dental Group 88%.
And it is not the reviews: Los Altos Dentistry takes 16% of the map with just 10 Google reviews. Los Altos Dental Group holds 88% with 56. This practice has 32 — and 0%.
This practice does not need a rebuild. It needs the duplicate pages merged, dental schema added, and the Google profile fixed — then the momentum it already has starts converting instead of leaking.
Most audits open with "rebuild the site." Not this one. This site has 63 pages, 192 ranking keywords and four terms already in the top 3 — the content work has largely been done. Two things are stopping it from compounding: it publishes several pages chasing the same keyword, so Google never knows which to rank, and it carries no dental schema at all, so AI engines have nothing to read.
Why this matters: keywords nearly quadrupled since May while traffic only doubled, and last month keywords rose again while traffic slipped. That gap is the duplicates at work. Fix the split and the growth already underway starts landing on page one instead of page three.
Audit the 212-domain profile behind that Authority Score of 8, then build quality backlinks, citations & brand mentions across high-authority dental and local publications — authority is what moves a #9 to a #3.
4 strategic blogs per month written for AI search and traditional SEO — this site is already past 80 keywords, so the work shifts to depth on the terms that convert rather than raw coverage.
Hands-on GBP management: weekly posts, review responses, Q&A, photos and a steady review program to lift 32 reviews toward the rivals’ 56–323 — all tracked with Local Falcon scans.
Semrush, Local Falcon, GA4 & Search Console together — monthly reports show what's working and what to iterate next.
Ongoing technical SEO, schema, and Core Web Vitals maintenance so the consolidated site stays fast, clean and fully indexed — and no new duplicate pages creep back in.
